The Wilson County Public School school system continues to grow. Student population continues to increase, with the current PK-12 student enrollment of 18,402 and roughly 800 new teachers and administrators have been hired since 2014. In addition, the district is in the midst of its largest building campaign to date. Five of the district’s twenty two schools have undergone massive renovations over the past two years. Springdale Elementary, located in Mount Juliet, opened in August of 2017. Gladeville Middle School, which is currently under construction, will be open for students by the fall of 2019. All portable classrooms have been eliminated from the district, and property has already been purchased for the next phase of building projects, which will include a new elementary, middle, and high school in Mt. Juliet.
